In the late 19th and early 20th century, the railroads and the Fred Harvey Company encouraged unmarried, young women to head west and take jobs in hotels, restaurants and as tour guides. Guest presenter VanAnn Moore will share their story in period costume. Co-sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and the New Mexico Humanities Council, this program made possible by the generous support of the Amigos de Cerrillos Hills State Park. Program starts promptly at 2pm.
