CERRILLOS HILLS STATE PARK

THE CERRILLOS HILLS SEEN FROM THE NORTHWEST

CHHP from NW

This aerial perspective is from the northwest in the vicinity of Interstate Highway 25 looking toward the southeast. The city of Santa Fe is about 20 miles to the left and Albuquerque is about 40 miles to the right.

The Santa Fe County component of the Cerrillos Hills State Park lies between the base of Grand Central Mountain and the Village of Cerrillos. BLM and New Mexico State lands extend from the county component to the left of Cerro de la Cosena and include the bulk of Cerro Bonanza in the foreground as well, though there are many parcels in this view that are privately owned.

The Galisteo River valley is the lighter streak beyond Grand Central Mountain. The river flows from the east (upper left), past the Village of Cerrillos, and joins the Rio Grande about 16 miles to the west (right).

The hills from other angles: from the SW (from the right side of this view) - from the NE (from the left side of this view.)

This website is maintained by the Cerrillos Hills Park Coalition
