MINERS in the CERRILLOS HILLS - 1880

Miner's Cabin

This miner's cabin was probably photographed because it was one of the fanciest homes in the southern part of the district in 1880.

The wooden boxes stacked next to the house are probably from canned food, as most miners still used black powder, which came in cans, rather than dynamite, which came in boxes.
