An aerial view of Devil's Throne

North is at the top.

The geologic feature called Devil's Throne occupies the lower left portion of this view. Note how the road, County Road 57 or Waldo Road, circles around the back side of Devil's Throne, and how Galisteo Creek forces the railroad tracks up against it. If you examine the photo carefully, you will see that portions of the rock face actually overhang the railroad! At the southeast end of Devil's Throne is a disused rock quarry.

The small arroyo that crosses this photograph from top center to center left is the outflow for the "Gray Area".

Devil's Throne itself is outside the boundaries of the Cerrillos Hills Historic Park. The Park lands begin at approximately the loop of the road.
